Carbon Sense have been working in partnership with Business Information Point, to deliver green business support across East Devon, under a programme funded by East Devon District Council.
The East Devon Carbon Action programme (EDCAP) provides support for businesses and community organisations of all sizes across East Devon, to help them measure and reduce their carbon footprint, adopt more sustainable practices, and move towards becoming net zero.
Business Information Point is committed to supporting net zero projects across the South West, and needed support to produce Carbon Reduction Plans and Carbon Footprint Reports for businesses and community organisations on the Carbon Action Programme.
They further required support in preparing clients to apply for the Carbon Action Fund, a 550k fund to support businesses adopt renewable technology in their businesses.
Working with businesses and community organisations across East Devon, sustainability advisors from Business Information Point conducted site visits to assess each of the client’s suitability for the Programme, and supported the client in collecting the required data.
Carbon Sense then analysed the data, and provided further specialist support in the production of Carbon Reduction Plans and Carbon Footprints for each client according to their particular requirements.
The Carbon Reduction Plans were also a key component of applications to the Carbon Action Fund, which the majority of clients were applying for. Working in partnership with Business Information Point, clients were supported to be ‘Application Ready’ and Carbon Sense provided the critical ‘carbon reduction figures’ required.
