Dolphin Stairlifts is committed to achieving Net Zero and needed support to analyse their existing emissions. A detailed analysis of their scope 1, 2 and 3emissions was required to create a compliant carbon reduction plan and a carbon reduction strategy demonstrating commitment to achieve Net Zero emissions by 2050 or sooner. These baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions, and are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured. Working together with our key partners Business Information Point and Cosmic the support was delivered through the Prosper Programme.
Carbon Sense worked with Dolphin Stairlifts to create a comprehensive carbon footprint analysis to establish a baseline and set strategic goals.
All direct and indirect emissions across Scope 1, 2, and all required Scope 3 were included, with a spend-based methodology applied only where accurate data was not available. The scope 3 categories measured include; Business travel/Employee Commuting/ Waste From Operations/Water.
After analysing their carbon footprint internally, this led to the need to externally review, to verify methodology and boundaries and shape a robust Carbon Reduction Plan. Using the results, we were able to create a PPN 06/21 compliant carbon reduction plan detailing Dolphin Stairlifts commitment to net zero, outlining their reduction strategies within actionable short and medium term reduction tasks. This carbon reduction plan pledges both short and long-term goals aimed at significantly reducing carbon emissions across all areas of operations and management.
