Carbon
Accounting

Carbon Accounting is the measurement, management and reporting of the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions either within an organisation, or associated with a product. Ongoing carbon measurement and accounting can be embedded into an organisation in a similar way to financial accounting, and can provide a number of benefits.

Carbon accounting can help identify where emissions are coming from within an organisation or supply chain. By understanding these sources, organisations can make targeted efforts to reduce their emissions in the most impactful areas.

If your organisation is required to comply with a particular Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) framework and/or Streamlined Energy Carbon Reporting (SECR), then you are required to report on your energy usage, GHG (Greenhouse Gas) emissions and an intensity metric.

You are also required to disclose the methodology used to calculate these metrics, and most importantly, any energy efficiency measures taken during the financial year being reported.

As part of our Carbon Accounting Service, Carbon Sense will help you to:

  • Calculate, benchmark, and report your Scope 1 & 2 emissions
  • Understand and measure your scope 3 emissions
  • Embed carbon accounting into your organisation
  • Manage your data on an ongoing basis
  • and report your emissions on behalf of your organisation if required

Please get in touch to discuss how carbon accounting or calculating your carbon footprint can positively impact your organisation, and the planet.
